Ok, so this is going to be a short one. Really short. We’re going to be doing a stenciled door mat and it only requires three things. First a mat, I got this one from the dollar store or you can use an old one you have at home, secondly some letter stencils which you can also find at the dollar store. And lastly a paint brush with stiff bristles and black acrylic paint, also found at the dollar store, do you see the trend here? Basically this is a super affordable and cute project.

To begin lay your mat on a flat surface, you can spread some old paper or cloth under it in case of spills. Position your stencil on the mat where you want your word. If your stencil has adhesive on the back it would help it stay in place, mine didnt so I used painter’s tape to hold it. I started from the right side stenciling backwards to make sure all my letters fit.

Do the same on the other side and leave your mat to dry. Your done!!! Of course you don’t have to do yours exactly like mine. You can use your own sayings and customize it. I thought of adding tassels but decided against it because I figured they would just collect dust and dirt from being outside and look gross after a while.

How would you customize your mat, leave a comment below, and don’t forget to visit me on Instagram @NikkiFridy_Accidental_Crafter. Happy crafting!
