Today marks the first day of Summer, hooray! We’re getting out and about, the world is in full bloom and figured it would be a great time to take a break from doing home decor DIY’s and do something to celebrate what in my opinion is the best season. Today we’re doing tie dyed shoes. I’m sure you’ve been seeing lots of tie dye all over, from fashion to home decor. My theory is that everyone being stuck indoors has brought about a resurgence of some “forgotten” crafts.
If you’ve been following my blog you would know that I like quick and pretty easy crafts, and this one is just that, in fact my little was the one who made these. You don’t need much for this project, most of the materials you might already have at home.
- Permanent markers
- Rubbing alcohol
- A small spray bottle
- White canvas shoes
- Painters tape or masking tape

Start by taping of the rubber part of your shoe. Once the shoe is all taped off, it’s time to start coloring, use darker markers if you’d like more vibrant colors. We colored ours in sections, but you can also do swirls. Now that you’ve finished coloring fill your spray bottle with alcohol and spray the entire area that you’ve colored, being sure to fully saturate the shoe.

Set the shoes aside to dry. Once fully dry remove the tape and they’re ready to wear.
The fun thing about this diy is that you can make it entirely yours, choosing colors and designing it to suit your style. Plus it’s affordable. With the exception of the shoes all the supplies can be found at the dollar store. We found our shoes at Walmart for only $8! What a steal for cute shoes. I hope you enjoyed this project, let me know in the comments below. And if you made this diy I’d love to see it, tag me in your pics @nikkifridy_accidental_crafter on Instagram or @nikkifridyaccidentalcrafter on Facebook. Till next time, happy crafting!❤

😍😍😍😍😍. GET JOB! I will try this with my little one
